its all about the dress

heyyy! so did you watch the royal wedding? i did! glued in front of the TV from 1230pm till 9pm. and i did skipped class too. hehe it is a rare occasion right? so i did what i have to do :p its just a crit session in my class today, anyways, and i did my crit on Monday, so i think i'm good *confidence!*

some may not give a damn on the event, some may think its a waste of time watching it. but not me. coz, again, it is rare right???!!! how many times in your life could you watch a wedding procession like that? like how you ask? hah! sapa suroh sik tangga! sik mok cita! your loss :p lemme just say, Catherine's dress was G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S! it has the look of a traditional wedding dress, but at the same time it still has the elements of present-day flair. just see for yourself:

the train. not as long as Diana's, which i think is good. this one is already looking heavy, i wonder how Diana managed to walk pulling that long train behind her. sik sakit ka bahu or is it palak, or kaki??

the maid-of-honour is Pippa, Kate's sister. and her dress is stunning as well!! ohh love!
(read bout the dress being almost similar to Grace Kelly's here!)

oh so beautiful laces and neckline.. and cute little flower girl covering her ears cause of the aircrafts that were flying over their heads :D *correction: the girl was disturbed by the roaring sound of the crowd cheering for the newlywed couple to kiss! (edited)*

look at the detailing at the bottom of the dress! and the silhouette is just perfect for her :)

Pippa looks ravishing in this dress :D

lets not forget the adorable bridesmaids and handsome pageboys!
oh and the bride did her own makeup too. now do we need to start talking bout the hats?

i'm a red-head now : part I

note: the initial post was a bit too long, so i have to split it into two parts, before you guys quit on me half way. this part I is pretty long as well, but please bear with me!!!!

happy 2011 y'all!!!

its already been 6 days into the new year, and i havent conclude my 2010 like most people did. mostly because i'm lazy busy, busy catching up with TV shows. hehehe huh what a way to start a year kan! haha

my 2010 has been a year full of new findings, knowledge and discovery. like yesteryears, i learn alot. but 2010, was the greatest teacher so far. so my laziness continue, i'll just pinpoint my highlights of the year
  • being unemployed for half a year. come to think bout it, what the heck did i do huh??? i remembered, the first few months i was hunting for a potential college/uni for me to pursue my ID. then when i finally found Raffles, Mak asked me to postponed my enrollment cause she needed me to help her with Abang's wedding preparations. so i did. and for months before Abang's big day, i went from one bridal shop to another to survey their promotions and what not. that was stressful, like SERIOUSLY! and i thank God that Mak asked me to help her. i cant imagine if Mak was the one who's running here and there and dealing with all the stresses and Abang's demand and all. pity her, dont you think? and also thank God they didnt leave the catering to me as well. if i were in charge of that one as well, i think i cry for three days before calling the caterer. apa kah? my point is, wedding preparation is a really tedious task. its tiring but at the same time its fun, for me. and after it is all done, i feel like i just achieved something big, although i think i only helped like 40%. but again, it is stressful, til the stage that you feel like you wana get out of the country and go somewhere serene and relaxing to take you head off things. i guess that was exactly why they invent the 'honeymoon' tradition right? to clear the bride & groom's heads after months of wedding preparation? but if the bride & groom is not involve with the preparation, can the wedding planner goes for a vacation instead? perhaps planning a wedding for ourself is not as tedious? coz you get to choose and decide on your own. but doing it for others, you're only the middle person. you get one quotation from this person, and you have to ask for the approval of the groom/bride, then there's the meeting with the minister of finance some more. kan?? ehi panjang la pulok.
i clearly remember, this was the moment when i realised 'i did it! everything went smoothly, Alhamdulillah :')' tangga dah besinsin dah yours truly.
  • i learned how to bake cupcakes! and made some $$ out of it :)

my very first attempt on baking and decorating cupcakes! :D

    • i got into Raffles! and made some new friends. and met a person which thinks almost similarly like me, in a way. that's my lecturer. this lecturer of mine, is very inspiring i tell you. especially on the first class, he'll like motivated us to go out, to see the world, to experience spaces, to feel the atmosphere, to indulge in the ambience, to not sit at home and just google everything, to get our lazy bums off the chair and walk walk walk run run run go go go wherever you can go. thrice! he did it thrice. once in his class last term, and twice in his two classes yesterday!!! i feel like going to Singapore again, already. or Manila, or Bangkok? Bangkok again? isnt Bangkok is so last yearrr?? NO! (btw, i'm designing retail spaces this term. meaning: i'm designing SHOPS with clothes, or shoes, or bags, or umbrellas, or body care products, you get what i mean. meaning: got to experience the spaces. meaning: SHOPPING MALLS here i come! meaning: FUN FUN FUN!!)
    • i met and fell in love with Mickey (who is sleeping at my feet while i write this)
    •
Mickey, disaat mula-mula perkenalan. maseh malu-malu gik time tok.

    Mickey, the true colour.

    • i discovered the high fashion phenomena which was already going on for a while here in KL. or maybe in other parts of Malaysia too. but my tempurung is not fully opened, so i cant see passed KL yet. ngehehe most importantly, these people wear the tudungs/scarves/shawls/selendangs!! now, who say you cant be fashionable if you're wearing hijab?? just dont get it wrong, hijab is not a fashion. hijab is supposedly to be something you are attached to from within, then you make your hijab fashionable and make your own style out of it :)
    • i learned that the car Smart Fortwo CAN be extended. check this out:
Apiz: Smart Fortwo dapat extend, tauk kah?
    Aten: extend apa?
Apiz: extend lah. tambah pintu. mun ada duit lebeh, pegi kedei, extend tambah 2 gik pintu, jadi Smart Forfour.
Aten: aieeeeeeeee! menaaa kah?? *mata bersinar2 dah time tok mendengar information yang menarik*
Apiz: aok lah. kakya mun ada duit gik, extend gik. extend gik. sampei jadi bas!
*TOING* Apiz pelantin 30 kaki kenak side kick oleh Aten.

i seriously thought he was serious  -.-" coz Apiz is not the one who usually give this kinda ridiculuos information. usually, he says one dumbest word at a time, like calling me with his own name. so full of himself kan? imagine klaka ngan dirikpun kali. i love you more already, baby!

wooopps nampak ketiak ktk yang.. kucikucikuuuu~ keletek ketiak nya...

    •  not forgetting my superb birthday!!!

    • i got to experience Balinese spa! muahahaha i forgot to tell you in my birthday entry, that a spa treatment was one of my birthday presents! hihihi it was awesomeness! especially the Balinese scrub. you want??? silalah pegi ke Bali ataupun Thailand sekarang.
lebeh kurang mcm tok lah tek. yerdeh. alu nak imagine i topless you people tok..
    • ·i fall back in love with Yuna. i used to like her back in 2008, but then something happened that made me pull myself away from her. maybe i’ll save the story for another day. but for now, i’m back on being her supporter, publicly.
      • got to spend the last few days of December with family. we went to Singapore to see the Christmas' deco. and I-City for the new year's eve night. we didnt wait til 12am though, coz everyones pretty exhausted already. countdown with TV2, and watched KLCC's fireworks from our apartment! it feels good really :) lemme feast your eyes with the photos. ngahaha

      Singapore - christmas night

yes. i walked around in Singapore wearing slepar jepon. ya jak comfortable -.-

super love this moment!!! makan-ice-cream-one-dollar moment

       vibrant colour of flowers~ loike!

Mickey is afraid of that green thing. recognise it?

my dady kool & mama kool

yeah i went to Genting in a dress. while queing for the cable car, i got lots of stares from the people around me. their faces were like 'wth r u thinkin goin here wearing a dress????' i throw back a face which said 'helllllo Genting! i'm here!! now where's the beach?' why is it that when a girl wears a comfortable light flowy dress, she has to go to the beach?? 'duh! of course la i'm not that bimbo go play space shot wearing a dress. like hellllo? tok ku melesit skit daie ko.

       i-City, Shah Alam

i am proud of myself for taking this pica. muahahahahah!

it is seriously an awesome place. a must go if anyone of you are in the viccinity of KL or Selangor. serious menyesal mun sik pegi, i got several of 'sik sangka ada tempat camtok wujud di Malaysia' after they saw my collection of photos. and Sheila, next time you're in KL and you want me to teman you to go here, i'll be more than pleased to go with you! :D and oh! sik ada antu the night i went there ok. you guys who believed ada antu di siya are so gullible. ngahahah *ehem* and the best part of it was, there was a congregational prayer (sembahyang berjemaah) for Maghrib and Isya' organised that night, at the open air, surrounded by the colourful trees. ada lah dalam 4 5 saf urang join sembahyang :') and while waiting for Isya', they didnt put on a loud music to fill the air, but instead an ustaz gave a good ceramah agama, very suitable for all visitors, not only Muslims :)

i think Farhana got it wrong. i said put on a funny face, not a cute face.

all in all, 2010 was awesome and legendary!! the whole year was a rollercoaster of emotions. and nothing, nothing that i am not grateful of. i'm a firm believer of 'everything happens for a reason' or 'ada hikmah disebalik apa yang berlaku'. yes i really do believe in it, so this is me full of gratitude to Allah SWT for a great year. Alhamdulillah..

      to be continued ...

      a dedication, with love

that morning i woke up earlier than other usual Sunday. i got up and opened up two birthday cards from back home which was mailed to me two days earlier. tears welling up my eyes as i read the words of my parents (how i missed them so much!!) and the cute handwritings of my little sister.

at 9am, i was already on the road heading to my auntie’s place to pass some stuff to bring back to Kuching. i didnt know driving in KL - around BB area - on a Sunday morning could be so relaxing and refreshing. minus the usual traffic congestion, minus black smokes produced by buses and lorries, plus Sunday morning sunshine, it almost feels like driving in Kuching at 7am on a Sunday morning (huh! ada time gap paduhal these two places).

and then i remembered Sheila saying bout having your own me-time on your birthday. so i head to the coffee shop and get myself a big breakfast all by myself. that was already around 1030am - and people here in KL viccinity is STILL having their breakfast. if in Kuching, people is already bustling in and out of Sunday market. even if there are those in the coffee shops, you would see bags of groceries under their table or shopping bags with colourful fruits seated next to them. but people here semua muka fresh lepas mandi sipping their coffee and tea. seriously lah these KL people ada lambat 2 jam.

after a happy hour of having brunch reading a fashion magazine konon-konon stylo, Apiz and i met up and we were all geared up to do flying fox in KL Tower! its like a feast of fireworks in my heart  and tummy when i walked up to the registration counter. and as i filled in the form and sign it off, i said to myself 'am i really doing this??' i started having sweaty palms and feet. and in my case, i get EXTRA OVER sweaty palms and feet when i am too anxious. cause i get sweaty palm and feet allllll the time even in an air-conditioned room. and at one point when we were walking towards the platform, i confessed to Apiz 'tuija mok polah bungee jump, tok pun dah cuak. boleh sik sikmok polah??' HAHAHAHAHA well, that was just a conversation to fill in the time gap ok :P :P :P there were four other jumpers that day besides me and Apiz, so they all went first, and Apiz went last. so kira terre la kamek nak, to go before Apiz. its like 'Apiz, tangga Aten polah giney ahh. iboh takut.' yerrdeh! haha the best part was we got to do two jumps each so the first one was kind of a trial jump, and the second one you already know the drill and you can enjoy it without constantly thinking 'whats going to happen next?'

      bungee jump vs. flying fox:
in my thought, for my birthday this year, it HAS to be something different AND i dont want to be dependent on other people to make it happen. as the miracle date - 24th October - fall perfectly on a Sunday, i made plans as early as January. they include: bungee jump in Phuket, exploring Bangkok, and fall in love once again for Singapore. those are the many plans which i juggled about to pick out which is the best. but those plan also come with one very big problem. i need a travel mate. i cant go if i dont have anyone going with me. for all you know my dad would be keeping my passport in the safe box with 16-digit security password, or bury it in the ground next to our 'pandok ground' or he might just feed the crocodile with it. oh no over exaggeration happens. so i cant find someone who can go to those places with me on the said date. everyone else has their own schedule to keep up with, and i myself was also busy with assignments and datelines (did not foresee this in January). and then i came across an information bout bungee jump is back in operation in Sunway Lagoon! yippy!! so i made new plan: to bungee jump on 24th October 2010 in Sunway Lagoon. i tried to talk Apiz into doing it with me. cause you'll get a certificate of bravery for doing the jump, and i want Apiz to have one with my birthday date on it. Apiz sik mok. i pleaded him with bambi eyes also he didnt want. he said he'll only take my photos and video of me jumping. and then i redha. and a couple of days before the big day, i told him i dont want to do the jump, cause he's not doing it. i want to do something fun together with him. so we opted to do the flying fox at Menara KL.

      bungee jump gik Dear~

and then i went to meet up with my rebel mates back in UIA. we kinda have this routine to meet up for each others’ birthday even if its only for a slice of cake. doing meet-ups like this, its almost like a constant reminder that i will always have these beautiful people by me no matter what. thank you darlings!

and about the Mr. Gorgeous Instax. my new toy. my joy. my muse. i love you. i keep on finding reason to touch you even if i cant use you. apparently Semenanjung Malaysia is having a lack of stock on the film (surprisingly stock melambak in Kuching). so i cant play much with it, yet. out of the 10 films, lemme see, i only took two photos ok! the rests are by Apiz or total strangers. how lah. i want to be in the picture, have to ask someone else to take the photo right? :P

a very BIG thank yous and hearts and bubble clouds and kittens and all the nice things to Apiz Dearie for the cameraa!!~ :D :D :D yippy can i cry?

a very deer friend also gave me this cool bag which i cant stop using it now. i love the vibrant colour, the material, the just-nice size and of course the doll herself who gave it to me. but im scared if i use it too often then the colour would fade or it'll lose its natural texture and become slouchy and oh so many paranoia-of-using-too-much-of-a-beloved-thing-cause-i-dont-want-it-to-lose-its-original-quality-that-makes-me-fall-in-love-with-it-at-the-first-place. hah! oh and because of that paranoia, i like to take photos of my stuff (and keep some of them and never use them)! omg! i sound like a psychopath.

it was a happy birthday for me. in fact it was a happy birthmonth. Apiz did try make every living day of October feels like my birthday and it worked! thank you so much Love, for each and every little details you did (and did not do, esp on dinner night!). can i cry now?

even now, already half way through November, people are still wishing me belated birthday wishes, thank you all for the wishes and doa. may God bless your kindness with even greater kindness from Him. i am overjoyed!
